My latest entertainment....Popart!

Maybe its just because I'm nursing all the time but I've been doing a lot of digital manipulation of my phone pictures and turning them into what I call Popart.   By definition,  pop art is an art movement that began in the 1950's that used iconic American imagery through a modern artistic medium.   My photos might not use striking iconic imagery but it incorporates contemporary fashion and our most modern technological mediums.  I relate it to nursing because it is what I am able to do when my physical body and movement is tied up.  I can create this type of art no matter my position or location.  It requires preparation up to the point of compilation otherwise it cannot be formulated once I'm nursing, unable to seek out the pieces needed.

I'm excited to see how it will all evolve.   These are just my beginnings and I have learned that if you keep playing with something you will continue to learn and grow with it.  You don't really even have to try as long as you are diving in and surrounding yourself with it.  The results will come naturally when you aren't even thinking about it.

WoodWorks

We're staying home this weekend!  It's been awhile that we've done nothing...yay!  Baby's asleep, boys are well fed, and I'm woodburning :)  I've had these bangles sitting on my dresser for over a year!  It feels good to finally get it going and out of my system.  I also found some cool wooden beads that I'm working on to make them unique in the world.  I'm not sure what the final piece will look like but that's the way all my art is....it works itself out!    Hopefully they'll all be posted in the shop before this coming week in over.  ♥♥♥

Trade off...a clean house for artsy fartsy expression

I'm not sure how I managed to pull off two new necklaces this week...actually three because I made my sister one with a blown glass bead that she had made herself.  The most recent item turned out to be quite elegant and I'm excited to post it ... I'm also excited to run it through some trial wearing!  I should be posting it in the shop soon.  This top image is a sneek peak of my lovely new necklace.  The picture below is the necklace I made for my sister with her multicolored blown glass bead.

Modernizing?

We finally broke down and got a flat screen tv.  We were honestly the only people I knew who still owned, let alone still used, a tv of old that didn't have a digital convertor and could not receive mordern digitized waves.   Lol!   It's funny how living with things that are retro and outdated  always makes modern basic items seem like super fancy things.  My reasoning for this recent 'upgrade' was because we gained space.  Space!...which is sparce in our dwelling.  I'm determined to make my home cozy and organized despite the spatial boundaries and my husbands tendency toward sentimental hoarding.  I'm thankful he's willing to live on used and upcycled things!   I've been having fun trying to take what we have and make it interesting...artsy...cozy...
I always have fun with the vision, although it rarely manifests into a common practice or schemes, asI have to be forgiving with two 6 year olds and a nine minth old!  At least there's inspiration within it!

Peace!

Finished! A completed project.

It's finished!  It took me a bit of time to settle on the final arrangement.  This is what I  ended on.  It came together nicely and the earrings match much better than I expected them to.  I can't wait to put it up in the shop!  Should be sometime tomorrow.

Peace and Love to you!

Finish in one night?... You're kidding! - A project in progress

Last nights goal was a joke.  I wasn't even able to finish half of it.  Ha!  I guess I just can't stay up like I used to.   It's ok.  My piece is coming along today.

Here's the mess of my project in action.  I'm not sure of its final arrangement just yet but i sure am having fun!

Something new

I'm working on something new for the first time in a long time.  I'd been so busy with my shop make-over that I hadn't really found the time to create new items.   I get excited to finish a piece once I have the momentum going.  I have this laid out on the table now as  I'm trying to put the baby to sleep so I can go back out there and keep the flow until its done!

Fun redesigning my shop

I've been having fun updating my shop which is resulting in certain areas of my home becoming beautifully artistic. I've created a pseudo-stage for photo shoots in the corner of a room.  It's slowly but surely becoming larger and larger and I love it! I'm also having a lot of fun editing the images that I capture. Here's a look at a couple popart-sy pictures that I created with the stage that is overtaking my home.

Moving on

No news of a new job but that's ok, things have a way of working out.   In the meantime I found the time to photograph my beautiful niece in some of my AfterWork jewelry and create a shop make-over.  It was a lot of fun between changing items, snapping shots, appeasing baby, and dressing the mannequin.  We didn't get all the items on her but it still made for some beautiful shop changes.    I'm loving the new look.  I can't stop looking at my shop!  Lol!

Peace and Love!

The potential of a new path

Sooooo, I might be having a change of course here soon.  I'm pretty burnt out with my current position and I'm starting to put my feelers out there into the world of opportunity.

I hadn't looked for jobs in awhile.  It's interesting I to see what's out there.   And to my surprise, as I was having a hard time summarizing myself and my skills, I  discovered that I have a professional title that I wasn't aware of....apparently I'm a systems analyst!  WOW!  I feel so official!  Lol

This is great because I had already scraped my resume that I'd had for 10 years and I needed new material.  Surprisingly,  I whipped up a new resume (running on the fumes of my inspiration from learning about my new skill set title) and began working on a cover letter.  I've already found two position announcements that may be challenging but well worth the effort to begin the process of finding my new path. They both would be a raise in pay but along with the raise comes some difficult decisions that would need to be made.   I'm not quite ready to leave my baby...it's a perk I have right now.  One would require moving 120 miles north into our old home!  Oh how I miss that mountain air but am I really ready to live in a small town again?  Eeeeesh!  I don't know but I can say one thing...it's all got me giddy and dreamy with inspiration.

Wish me godspeed!   ♥♥♥
