Mt. McKinley Memory Remake ~ Learning to paint with Bob Ross S1E2

This painting is out of sequence only because I wanted to try and replicate one of the previous paintings from memory. I chose to do the Mount McKinley piece from season 1 episode 2 on a 9"x13" canvas with acrylic paint.

Winter Moon ~ Learning to paint with Bob Ross S1E6

This is my second attempt at using oil paints. It was a lot of fun but I must admit the cabin was difficult! 11"x14" canvas.

Quiet Stream ~ Learning to paint with Bob Ross S1E5

To date, this is my absolute favorite.  I'm very proud of this piece. At this point I was still using acrylic paint. we started with a sap green covered 11"x14" canvas.

Winter Mist ~ Learning to paint with Bob Ross S1E4

This picture does not do this painting justice. I wish I would have gotten a better one. I created this one using acrylic paint in black and white almost entirely. Only the sky used a bit of blue.  11"x14" canvas.

Ebony Sunset ~ Learning to paint with Bob Ross S1E3

This is my 3rd attempt at the Bob Ross technique. A 9"x12" acrylic paint

Mt. McKinley ~ Leaning to Paint with Bob Ross S1E2

This was my second attempt at the Bob Ross technique (but using acrylic paint).   From Season 1 Episode 2 we have Mt. McKinley...which mine looks nothing like I'm sure since I'm not really capable of copying Bob's exact image.  It's really all about his technique. This technique is  designed for oil paints.   Nonetheless, acrylic paints work, you just have to be more nimble and accepting, in a sense, because the paints dry so quickly.  Overall, I was very proud of this one, 9"x12", which I ultimately gave to my father as his Christmas gift.

A Walk In The Woods ~ Learning to paint with Bob Ross S1E1

I don't paint much lately due to lack of space and time.  But I love to paint! Once in awhile I'll find the right moment and I will paint flowers or landacapes.  This year for Christmas I decided to paint my dad a picture because I am never able to figure out what to get him.  What do you get the man who is content with life and doesn't want anything that fits in a box?  So, in an attempt to produce without proper inspiration I turned to Bob Ross.  I always wanted to try one of his anyway.  I happened to choose Episode 1 of Season 1.  What a great one to start with!

I had a blast so I painted 6 more for other family members that I love.   I do believe I will continue so I thought I'd blog about each one that I produce....maybe in order of their airing (?).  So here is my first. ..
Bob Ross, Episode 1 of Season 1,  A Walk In the Woods with acrylic paint in red, yellow, blue, green, and white.  (I only used the colors I had at the moment and not the colors Bob actually uses.)  Ultimately, I gave this one, 9"x12", to my oldest sister.
